Forecast Discussion

We look forward to three mostly dry days, starting with today. High pressure nosing southward into the state from the Northeast will provide some great weather to get outside. We’ll hold onto isolated PM-thundershower chances today, then dry for Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be seasonable through Sunday.

An upper level low lumbering across the eastern Carolinas/Mid-Atlantic states should keep the inclement weather east of our area during the weekend. Moisture and instability will increase sufficiently by Monday afternoon for a pop-up afternoon thundershower risk.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday as the next weakening frontal zone approaches western North Carolina.
